An Unauthorized Note From The Webmaster......

It's good to be the webmaster, because when I've got something to say, I can say it! Let me talk to
you for just a minute about Oakridge Ministries.

I first met Brian Ball and became familiar with Oakridge when I helped take a youth group from my
church there in the summer of 2003. What I saw in the young people there changed my entire
concept about service to others as a Christian. It all boiled down to ONE pretty basic question for
me:

If there was something I could do that helped
even one young person secure their eternity with
Christ, what would that be worth? I thought about that question in terms of ministry, physical
actions (yes...labor!), and the biggie...FINANCES.  There was only one real conclusion - It would
be worth EVERYTHING I HAD.

Now don't get me wrong, this isn't a pitch for you to sell all your worldly possessions. But it IS a
chance to think about what enormous eternal consequences that even a small gift could have on
a life. Whether that gift is financial, just picking up a piece of trash to make the camp a nicer
place, or spending a little time counseling one on one, the potential eternal benefit to a young
person is beyond human comprehension.

Many of you probably do these things in the community where you live. Keep it up! I think
the
one thing that I found special about Oakridge is it's huge POTENTIAL as a vehicle to reach young
people.
A friend of mine called Oakridge a "church boot camp." That's a pretty good description
whether you're talking about reaching a camper with the gospel for the first time, or helping
"seasoned" Christians to grow in their walk. While Oakridge's goal is to spread the gospel of
Jesus Christ, the folks at Oakridge do it in a FUN and CHRISTIAN environment! I guess what I'm
trying to say here is that Oakridge is one of the most EFFECTIVE vehicles that I've ever seen to
reach young people for Jesus.  Just how much is that worth?

Thanks for listening and God Bless,
